homemade tortilla chips

- •8 corn tortillas
- •2–3 tablespoons olive oil
- •1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- •1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- •1/2 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)

instructions
cut the corn tortillas into triangles. olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. fry the tortilla triangles in batches for 1–2 minutes per side, using tongs to flip, until crispy and golden brown. transfer the fried tortillas to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. preheat the oven to 350°f (175°c). pour in a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder. lightly brush the fried tortilla chips with the seasoned oil mixture. arrange the chips in a single layer on a baking sheet. cook for 5–7 minutes, until the seasoning sets and the chips are extra crispy. sprinkle with salt and lime zest, if using. cool and serve with your favorite dips.
notes
variation: omit the chili powder or replace it with a pinch of smoked paprika if tolerated.
