garlic hummus

ingredients

  • 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus extra for garnish
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin (optional)
  • 2–4 tablespoons cold water
  • sea salt, to taste
  • fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • paprika, for garnish

instructions

Blend the Ingredients: In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and cumin (if using). Season with sea salt and black pepper.

Adjust the Consistency: Pulse until smooth, adding cold water a tablespoon at a time until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.

Taste and Adjust: Adjust the seasoning to taste, adding more salt, lemon juice, or garlic as needed.

garnish and serve: transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. drizzle with extra olive oil and sprinkle with paprika. serve with pita bread, chips, or fresh vegetables.
