creamy garlic shrimp
ingredients
- for the shrimp:
- •1/2 lb (225g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
- •salt and pepper, to taste
- •1 teaspoon olive oil or butter
- for the sauce:
- •2 cloves garlic, minced
- •1/4 cup heavy cream (or coconut cream)
- •2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese (optional but delicious)
- •1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (or a splash of white wine)
- to finish:
- •optional: pinch of red pepper flakes
- •optional: fresh chopped parsley or basil
instructions
Prepare the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
Cook the Shrimp: In a skillet over medium-high heat, warm the olive oil or butter. Add the shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes on each side until they turn pink. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Garlic: Lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Make the Sauce: Pour in the cream and stir gently. Add the Parmesan cheese and lemon juice, stirring until the sauce slightly thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
combine and serve: return the shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. heat through for an additional 1–2 minutes. sprinkle with red pepper flakes and fresh herbs if using. serve over rice, pasta, or sautéed greens.
